This will be Ed's first year with ITVC, although he has coached in the past with Club Director, Jen Baklenko. Ed began playing volleyball as a high school freshman and immediately fell in love with the sport. Fueled by his passion and competitiveness his skills developed quickly and by the end of his senior year had led his team to 3 consecutive undefeated seasons. As a senior he also earned an invitation to the Canadian Jr National team tryouts. Ed opted to play club ball during college due to the demands of earning a degree in Architecture. After college he returned to play competitively for a number of years at the open/AA men’s level.
Ed began coaching as a senior in high school leading their girls team to a district title. After college, career pursuits had him living in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver during which time he coached a college Men’s team, an Open men’s team, AA men’s teams, high school boys and women’s club teams. In 1998 he moved a young family to Seattle and undertook to build/ renovate a home himself. When that was done Ed began coaching again and for the past 9 years has coached U14s, U15s, U16s and several U17/ U18s club teams. He is excited to start his season with ITVC!
