Head Coach: Ryan Delfin

Ryan has been playing organized volleyball since he was 11 years old. For 4 years during high school he managed the high school volleyball team and played on a club team.  He has coached youth volleyball clinics at the Renton Community Center for grades 3-8, was the assistant coach for the Renton HS Varsity Team for 3 years, assisted with the Thunder Beach program, and is now the current head coach for the Lindbergh HS volleyball program.

Ryan loves every aspect of the game, but has a natural talent for setting and can't wait to teach all skills to the new generation. He really appreciates that volleyball teaches the dynamic of family, teamwork, and what it takes to be a great teammate.

This is his forth year coaching 14 Blue at ITVC and he can't wait to start the new season!

Assistant Coach: Alex Bloss

Alex returns in her second season to Island Thunder as an experienced coach with a focus on developing mentally strong athletes. She has coached ages U12 through U16, at both the regional and national level. Her passion for the sport shows: not only as a coach, but as a player seeking to continuously grow and challenge herself.

She has participated in a myriad of formats including reverse coed doubles, reverse coed fours and her favorite: men's sixes as a libero for both USAV and NAGVA. There, she co-captained a men's team and earned two medals.

Alex believes that some of the most important people in her life are a product of this sport; the opportunities it has provided are immeasurable, and she is so grateful to have the privilege to share in the growth of our youth through Island Thunder.
