Co-Coach: Johanna Castro-Thavixay

Johanna is excited this season to coach 15 BLUE! She coached 13 BLUE/BLACK for the past 3 seasons with ITVC. Great sportsmanship, discipline and being positive are components that she applies as a volleyball player and wants to instill these values to her players. She believes that a positive attitude can be infectious and is a big morale booster for any given situation. Teaching and motivating youth on and off of the volleyball court is her way to give back to the community.

Johanna played volleyball in elementary school and was the captain of her high school team. After moving from the Philippines to Washington State, she was able to rediscover her love and passion for volleyball by attending adult clinics, joining recreational leagues and playing indoor and outdoor tournaments.  She also competed for the 7 years at Seaside, winning the co-ed B division and co-ed BB division. Johanna is USAV Indoor impact certified and CAP 1 certified.

Co-Coach Coach: Sarah Pulaski

Sarah is looking forward to her first year with ITVC.  She have been playing volleyball since she was 14 years old. After high school Sarah went to play at Bellevue College and then later transferred to Eastern Oregon University as a libero/ds. This is her third year coaching club.  She was the head coach of NW 14s and then NW 12s previously.  She continues to play in adult leagues- both indoor and outdoor.

Sarah's coaching philosophy: I have a passion for volleyball, and I want to share that passion with my players. I believe that if you want something bad enough and you are willing to work hard for it, nothing can get in your way. I believe in strong headed, determined mind sets. I believe that sports are not only for exercise, but they provide you with mental discipline and they build character. One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that your team has your back. I am excited to teach my players the true values of playing volleyball and help them grow
