ITVC keeps roaming coaches to fill in for our full time coaches. We believe in keeping our coaches even if it is part time as they are such great coaches and part of our ITVC family!
Lauren is returning to ITVC for her fifth year. She was also one of our beach coaches this summer for Thunder Beach.
Lauren’s volleyball career started in junior high, competing at school and on a club team. Her passion for the sport quickly ignited and her 14 Black team eventually competed in the Junior Olympics. In high school, Lauren played every position from middle hitter to setter and finished her high school career as a right side at a 5A school in Colorado. Her coachability and athleticism allowed her to fill in whatever role was needed, ultimately aiding her team to two State berths, one with a sweet 16 finish. Lauren rowed on the Crew team at Seattle Pacific University, so she knows the discipline and work ethic it takes to compete at the college level. She graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics along with her teaching certificate.
Kyla is in her forth season with our ITVC family and her seventh year of coaching. This is her forth year back in Washington, where she grew up and played club for WVBA and Rain City. After graduating from Inglemoor High and lettering all three years for their volleyball program, she went on to attend George Fox University as a student-athlete. She played opposite for their team for two years. Due to injury, she decided to pursue coaching as a way to stay more involved in her favorite sport and give back to the volleyball community. Coaching quickly became her passion. Kyla spent two years as the assistant coach at Willamette Valley Volleyball Club for the 14’s, helping out on the side whenever she could with her college team. Her experience ranges from second grade through seniors in high school. She is currently the head JV coach at Inglemoor High School, working under Milt Guerreiro and learning lots of new Hawaiian terms. Kyla is taking a year off from coaching a team to prepare for her wedding next year, but is still going to help ITVC as a roaming coach.
