small group lessons
Island Thunder is excited to provide the availability of small group lessons to help athletes who are looking for extra reps to improve a specific skill and/or their overall game and knowledge of the game. We ask that athletes come to the gym with an open mind and a hunger to want to improve that 1%. The lessons will be open to 6th - 12th graders and on a first come first serve basis. Our goal is to have athletes leaving a lesson learning something new or improving that 1% on existing skill or gaining knowledge on a skill or aspect of the game.
We will aim to run one lesson for 12's-14's and another for 15's-18's. Due to a first come first serve basis if we have an overwhelming interest from one age group to fill both sessions on one day we will fill those spots. If you are wanting to attend sessions with friends, everyone will need to register individually. You will also be able to make notes on the google form below and we will try our best to group them together but it will depend on availability on the day that's being requested.
What lessons will look like
There will be 3 - 6 athletes per 1 hour lesson
Try to get a group together or just sign up for your athlete to join a lesson
Parents are allowed to help during the lesson by catching and helping shag balls, but are not allowed to instruct or coach during the lesson.
Small Group Cost
The rate is $70/hr per athlete + the split of the gym rental.
gym rental costs will be split by all athletes that attend lessons that day.
Booking a small group lesson
We will be booking 1 month at a time. Books will open again about 2 weeks prior for the next month.
